Surprisingly few clients really understand what their physical move involves, or what it will be like. By its very nature, accurately specifying requirements has to include defining and planning the physical move in sufficient detail to ensure that the job can be properly priced by removers AND that clients receive value for money. Therefore, expert advice is provided with regard to methods, practices, procedures and programme. An RIS move specification is renowned for its detail, even amongst move contractors, and provides an invaluable reference for project as a whole.
The transparent tender process is mapped out and agreed at an early stage, so that appropriate lead-time is factored in. Obviously, a well-oiled process has evolved over the years – and consultation with in-house procurement teams ensures this meets the most exacting standards.
Advice is also provided to help draw up a short list of suitable business move contractors, or ‘pre-qualify’ if necessary. RIS does not have a list of approved contractors, but does know the market extremely well.
